Would you ever put your foot in to a fish bowl and let the fish nibble on your toes and skin?

Fragrance Launches 2008

A while back Fauzan and Selina compiled a list of events that will happen in the future till the 23rd century. Well I am not going to make any such claims but what I will share with you is an article on one of my fav websites ALL ABOUT THE PRETTY that lists down all the fragrances that are set to make their name in the market this year. It’s a long but mouthwatering list nonetheless so as the website says: II suggest you get a fabulous journal, a beautiful pen, a great cup of tea, start making your list, and checking it twice.

From Jay To Juggan

Everyone knows who Juggan Kazim is. She’s a hot favorite among guys. She’s a model, a mother, and a media personality.

But do you know Jay Kazim?

Maybe… or not!

If you do then hey good for you. If you don’t then don’t feel left out because this year you’ll get to see her in a re-release of an Anglo-Indian production called Sweet Destiny. Actually the movie has been around since 2005 but back then it was titled Pink Ludoos! Does that ring any bells?

Jay or Juggan Kazim (as most of us commonly know of her as) plays the leading lady in the movie as a free-spirited and seemingly rather quite horny girl who ends up getting pregnant with not one… not two… but triplets! Eat that Juno! And the story goes as it typically does that she gets abandoned by her family and she is left on her own to take care of the matter she has gotten her self in to on a hot and heavy night.

It’s funny. How come we never really heard about this so much? I think I found the answer myself when I viewed the trailer of Pink Ludoos. The opening scene is a car shaking violently with moans and groans in the background. Juggan and a guy are seen ‘getting in the mood’ for some ‘fun’.

A-HA!

I asked a few of my friends from here and there and one of them said she had seen the movie some years back and that it was simply idiotic a notion that it was compared to the likes of Bend It Like Beckham. ‘Just cuz Jay’s mom’s character is played by the same actress who played the mother’s role in BILB doesn’t mean it is in the same league’ she said over a chat session last night.

So our Juggan darling gets to jiggle in a car, smooch her way around and ends up with triplets! (I know I am repeating the facts but I can’t get over the triplets part! It’s beginning to sound all too comical. Did they think using three instead of one child would give the movie more ”weight’?

I don’t know from where to get my hands on Sweet Destiny. It’s prolly not yet available in Pakistan. Good luck wishing this one to be reeled in on Pakistani cinemas!

For the night owls!

If you’re a night owl like moi then you know its missions keeping a fresh and active image for the crowds! Only God (and we ourselves) know what we have to go through to accomplish this and hide that and highlight the rest! Do I hear cries of ‘totally!’ and ‘righto’ ?

Well luckily the beauty industry and it’s make-up artists are on the ball when it comes to creating products designed to keep night owls looking fresh.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Fashion Drama

It’s bad enough when someone else wears the same dress as you but when you’re a style icon it’s a disaster- ask Sarah Jessica Parker.

The actress was mortified when she discovered the Nina Ricci dress she for the New York premiere of the Sex and the City movie had already had a red carpet outing.

Sarah told the New York Times that Theyskens assured her that the dress had not been wore before.

“My affection for the dress hasn’t changed,” she explained, “but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”

You tell ’em girl!!

Sometimes I get so jealous of the ‘perks’ some of us fortunate ones get to enjoy! People like Maria for instance.
Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova has just signed a two-year deal with Tiffany & Co, where the luxury jeweller will provide Sharapova with a new pair of earrings for each of the next eight Grand Slam tennis events, including Wimbledon and the US and Australian Opens.

The world number one is set to take to the tennis court wearing $1,150 yellow gold Elsa Peretti Wave earrings during the upcoming French Open – although dangly (see picture), they are apparently also very light to wear.

Each pair of earrings will be available in Tiffany stores during the event in which Sharapova wears that pair. With each tournament, the special grouping of earrings available in store will increase

YSL passes away at 71

French fashion king Yves Saint Laurent has died at the age of 71, hailed as a 20th century cultural icon who revolutionised the way women dressed.

The reclusive Saint Laurent’s couture creations won global fine art status and he was widely considered to be one of an elite club of designers including Christian Dior and Coco Chanel who made Paris the fashion capital of the world.

From Princess Grace of Monaco to the actress Catherine Deneuve, Saint Laurent’s creations adorned many famous women but he was also the first designer to make luxury labels accessible to a wider audience through innovative read-to-wear collections.

He exploded on to the world stage at just 21 and built up a clothes, perfumes and accessories empire that resulted in a 1989 stock market flotation – the first by a fashion house.

Did you know there was a Miss Pakistan World beauty pageant that is held OUT OF PAKISTAN and has recently seen its SIXTH annual contest?

No seriously there is! And like most (if not all) of their winners are suppose to be from Pakistan, prolly in the sense that they are brown and their greatest grandest mommies belonged to some part of Punjab, Balochistan, NWFP, or Sind perha non-profit Vision of Developmentaps. I glanced at their contestants page and errr why did I have this dirty feeling that I was checking out an escort agency or somewhat like that? uck uck!! No disrespects to all honeys but really, some of you need to shed some flab (or maybe learn to hide it a bit maybe??)

K so I’m a teeny meeny bit over the top with this one but it really was news to me. (Yea sherry, where were you for the past 20 years huh?). I had a look at this Mushy loving Mahleej character and errr who ever said she was a beauty must be crazy. No disrespect to you honey. You’re from the same species that I am but beauty pageant winner material… you ain’t! Sorry! Have you ‘seen’ what it takes to be a beauty queen? Aren’t I glad you’re done with the title (even if I still think it is ridiculous)! But I like Natasha. She doesn’t seem as slutty as her former predecessor (fingers crossed it stays that way) and I’m really hoping that with what she is already doing for the women of Pakistan, this crown would only help her in her cause.

So the new Miss Pakistan World is Natasha Paracha! She’s 23, a graduate of UC Berkeley, founder of the Pakistan Student Association at the university, and currently running  non-profit Vision of Development focused on helping women in Pakistan’s rural lands.

Shoaib Akhtar and controversies go hand in hand I swear. It’s like this man was born to be the centre of attention; for all the wrong reasons!

Pakistan’s daily, The Nation, posted a story a few days ago regarding airport customs officials finding empty syringes in his luggage while he was travelling to India to play in the Indian Premier League.

Shoaib’s personal doctor and trainer, Dr. Tauseef Razzak dismissed the claims as rubbish!

Talk about Shoaib telling the Customs officials that he needed the syringes to inject insulin as he is a diabetic patient is not true. He has asthma problems and uses an inhaler, for which he has got permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) 

We don’t know if all this is true or just plain old ploy being sponsored by the disgruntled PCB when they got kicked in the face and had to allow Shoaib to play in the IPL. Or maybe it’s the newspaper merely ‘creating’ a sensational gossip because they didn’t have a ‘real’ story about the speedster to publish.

I say leave the guy alone. He’s doing well and entertaining the crowds out there. Give him breathing space and let him do what he does best.
