Have a look at the spanking new trailer for the Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince at Movielicious. It is great to see a local setup working to provide high quality entertainment and movie news. The way this site is growing in terms of content is impressive and addictive.
The movie will be releasing in November this year.
I am not sure if X-Files: I Want To Believe will be shown in cinemas in Pakistan, but if it does, is it worth the trouble?
Movielicious has reviewed the movie recently and there seems to be all around disappointment.
Sure its good to see Mulder and Dana together. Sure they fit back in to their roles with ease. Sure there is some good dialogue. You can’t take away the credit there. But other than that, it’s like eating a three day old pizza from your mom’s fridge.
The site has given the movie a ranking of 4 out of 10 claiming it would have been better if this was a winter or autumn release instead of in the summers where so many mega block busters are competing for glory.
Sorry, but there are no little green men or abductions to speak of. I guess all the aliens left on that space ship at the end of the first movie. Sad. Also lacking is anything remotely supernatural. Sadder.
I’m not a fan of xFiles but if the movie is without aliens and creatures following a ‘a case that is right out of the C.S.I crime drama’, then is it worth it?

About two months ago, BLUR studios came up with this brilliant idea of making a cgi clip featuring Spiderman, Iron Man, and the Hulk!
I don’t know if the real motive behind this was to either promote upcoming flicks of these super heroes or to promote comics per say or to give us a taste of what The Avengers movie might look like or to market the video game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance! It could be all of them combined or none!
But one thing is for certain!
This short clip kicks ass! Spiderman’s 4 minute or so on this clip is a million times cooler than his three movies combined! Iron Man looks awesome and as for Hulk, this has got to be the best appearance of the incredible green ever!
If this is how they are going to make the Avenger movie then believe you me, it would be the super-hero movie of the century!

It’s bad enough when someone else wears the same dress as you but when you’re a style icon it’s a disaster- ask Sarah Jessica Parker.
The actress was mortified when she discovered the Nina Ricci dress she for the New York premiere of the Sex and the City movie had already had a red carpet outing.
Sarah told the New York Times that Theyskens assured her that the dress had not been wore before.
“My affection for the dress hasn’t changed,” she explained, “but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”

Fans of SEX & THE CITY (like moi here) are in for a special treat! There is going to be a book based on the upcoming movie AND… it features characters and plotlines that have been edited from the film.
Sarah Jessica Parker revealed to Contact Music the the companion book to the film was completed while writer/director Michael Patrick King was still editing the movie – and he cut out items and people that will appear in the published book.

In an unfortunate incident, Robert Knox, an 18-year-old actor set to star in the new Harry Potter film, was stabbed to death during a fight outside a London bar on May 24. Robert, who plays Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in the film, had just finished work on Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, which is due to be released later this year.
He was stabbed to death in a fight outside a bar in leafy Sidcup, Kent, in the early hours of May 25. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, south east London, where he was pronounced dead. Four other men were also hurt in the fight.
Police said a 21-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder. The alleged man came to the bar in Sidcup armed with two knives and was seen waving one of them around through the window.
A fight broke out and Knox and his brother Jamie were reportedly trying to protect each other, reports News of the World. Robert is understood to have been fatally stabbed after trying to save Jamie from the man.
In a statement, Rob’s parents, Sally and Colin Knox, said: “Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help out others – he would always spend his last penny on other people instead of himself. The life and soul of the party, he was very outgoing, loved sports, and would always strike up a conversation with people.”
“He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends. He was an asset to the family,” they added.

It is amazing how your past can sometimes catch up with you faster than you can imagine and bite you. A United Nations ambassador who has been passionate about adopting a ‘large family’ from world over, an ugly chapter from Angelina Jolie‘s past has recently come to life courtesy of the 
tabloid magazine, The Sun
From back in 1999, a dark and grainy video of the lady who played Miss Lara Croft in Tomb Raider (twice over) shows Angelina Jolie sitting in the infamous drugs den at Chelsea Hotel, NY. Her hair is a mess and she occasionally rubs her teeth as she blabbers on and on with heavy eyelids. Beside her, another woman is smoking heroin.
She does not take any drugs in the video herself. Even though Angie has been very open about her ‘previous’ drug addictions and kinky sexual exploits stating on several occasions how she has experimented with a lot many drugs like coke heroin, ecstacy, LSD etc. She however states that she’s all clean now.
Perhaps it is not the confession of drugs that is shocking. Or even the fact that she’s sitting in that drugs den but what really makes your hair stand is what she has to say!
She narates how her mouse died after she dyed it blue – how her pet hamster died of pneumonia after she took it in to the shower with her – the way her pet lizards were left for a little too long out in the sun. She confesses to attempting to kill her pet snake as well and recalls how she was a ‘bad girl’ at the age of 12 and used to beat up her friends.
Besides her passion for killing her pets, the mother of 4 (and is currently pregnant with twins) also confesses to (or rather brags about) loving sado-masochistic sex and how she used to take part in sex games where someone was tied down or hurt terming it as ‘just a cool thing’!

Shoaib Akhtar and controversies go hand in hand I swear. It’s like this man was born to be the centre of attention; for all the wrong reasons!
Pakistan’s daily, The Nation, posted a story a few days ago regarding airport customs officials finding empty syringes in his luggage while he was travelling to India to play in the Indian Premier League.
Shoaib’s personal doctor and trainer, Dr. Tauseef Razzak dismissed the claims as rubbish!
Talk about Shoaib telling the Customs officials that he needed the syringes to inject insulin as he is a diabetic patient is not true. He has asthma problems and uses an inhaler, for which he has got permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC)
We don’t know if all this is true or just plain old ploy being sponsored by the disgruntled PCB when they got kicked in the face and had to allow Shoaib to play in the IPL. Or maybe it’s the newspaper merely ‘creating’ a sensational gossip because they didn’t have a ‘real’ story about the speedster to publish.
I say leave the guy alone. He’s doing well and entertaining the crowds out there. Give him breathing space and let him do what he does best.

Yes the news might be slightly old by now but nevertheless, the masses need to know this… especially if you are a die hard fan of the Transformers franchise like I am and still think the mechanical sounds when the Autobots or Decepticons transform are outta this world!
So listen up everyone: According to a ShoWest 2008 Newsletter from Dolby Labs it has been stated that the upcoming sequel of Transformers in 2009 will be in 3-D! It is not yet confirmed whether the entire movie will be in 3-D or just the action sequences but 3-D is a definite part of it, yes sir!
Personally, I’d hate to see the entire flick morphed in 3-D. I mean, there are elements that look good in their original skin and nothing beats originality we all know. Get your naughty minds outta the gutter and stop wondering how hot and ‘popping out of the screen’ the FHM’s sexiest woman of the year, Megan Fox would look in 3-D! *chuckles*

So there you have it people!
Also joining the cast for the Transformers sequel is Isabel Lucas, the Australian actress most commonly known for her role in the popular Australian soap opera Home and Away. Don’t know much about her but have heard she’s well known for playing active roles in various environmental awareness organizations including Greenpeace International. Let’s see how the Aussie does while competing with the likes of Megan Fox speaking of whom I pray to God they give her something more to do than look hot through out the movie! She’s a pretty decent actress and I hope the directors are done portraying her as a mere love interest for our hero. She neeeds to be given an actual script this time around please!
