Enough is Enough!

In what is undoubtedly ranked amongst the deadliest of attacks by Taliban on Pakistan soil, at least 70 people have lost their lives while well over 100 remain critically injured. Majority of those who passed away and those who lie in pain and agony on hospital beds are poor workers at the Pakistan Ordinance Factory, Wah Cantt., one of Pakistan’s most sensitive and important military installations.

Maulvi Umar, spokesperson of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), later graced several news channels with his presence where he was treated with more respect than he deserved as he declared with no regret or shame that the TTP was the master-mind behind these suicide bombings. He further added:

More bombings will be carried out in major cities, including the capital and the southern metropolis of Karachi, unless the offensives are halted

Is THIS not an open declaration of war?

I pity a nation that ours is who are driven by their hearts rather than their minds. In the face of such unabashed and open threat to our national security, we remain, at most, a herd of sheep who are led blindly by their emotions and sentiments when it comes to religion. Sad that the realization has never dawned on this nation in over 60 years of its existence that the countries enemies know this weakness and capitalize on it to the fullest! Those who term Pakistan Army as the ‘na-Pak’ Army or despise our armed forces rightly deserve to be charged with treason.  The Pakistan Army is fighting to eliminate a viable threat to our country’s solidarity. Those who pose this threat and those who give refuge to these terrorists are equal and should be dealt with in similar fashion.

Pakistan is at WAR! The sooner our ‘developing’ awaam realizes it, the better.

Yes, It Was Us! Al-Qaeda claims responsibility!

Headlines in Pakistan’s Daily The NEWS this morning say that Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack on the Danish Embassy that left 8 dead and almost 30 wounded in Islamabad a few days ago.

An Internet statement, signed by al Qaeda’s leader in Afghanistan, Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, said Denmark was targeted as it had not apologized for the publication of the cartoons.

The attack was a “revenge against the infidel government … of Denmark which published degrading drawings of the prophet … and refused to apologize but continued … and was followed by leading Crusader states, organizations and figures,” it said.

The statement said a recorded message from the al Qaeda suicide bomber who carried out the attack would be issued.

Breaking News: Blast Outside Danish Embassy in Islamabad

News channels around the nation are giving breaking news right now of (at least) eight people dead and several wounded in a possible suicide attack right outside the Danish embassy in the Islamabad.

Various reports are pouring in and there is still some speculation whether it was yet another suicide attack on Pakistani soil or a pre-planted bomb. Unnamed police sources have however told the news channels that a suicide bomber driving a car was responsible for the blast. The car is said to be loaded with 15kg of explosives and exploded in the car parl leaving a huge crater and shattering windows of adjacent cars.

So far eight people have been confirmed dead and no one has taken responsibility of the attack but it is most likely an act of vengance for the cartoons published in Denmark.

More to come on this as details come in.

For Taliban The Show Must Go On

The so called ‘peace talks‘ and ‘prisoner exchange‘ settlements going on by the current government to handle the crude Taliban invasion in to Pakistan softly is coming around and slapping our dear negotiators square on the face.

And rightly deserved slap it is!

The sole purpose of these religious fanatics is to spread their version of Islam and use ANY means necessary to accomplish that… including suicidal bombings. Despite the so much talked about ‘fruitful’ talks by the government, there was yet another suicide blast on Sunday ( May 18 ) that accounted for 11 dead and 22 wounded at a market in Mardan quite close to the Army base. And today, another suicide bomber got the best of us and resulted in 5 troops severely wounded in Peshawar.

Here’s your wakeup call my dear government:

The two bombings happened in less than 3 days of you idiots not only setting free 55 captured Taliban militants but also paying a sum of 20 million Pakistani rupees (US$287,000) to these terrorists. So not only are the Taliban reaping huge ‘rewards’ for their ‘services’ to Pakistan by our government, but the openly claim responsibility for carrying these attacks out.

The only thing left for you guys in the government to do now is simply bend over to them!

What will it take to get it through to our ‘democratic nincompoops’ that these people don’t give a damn about ‘talks’ and ‘containment’. They crawled out of the mountains, the terrorist training camps and the blasphemous mosques with a very clear motive: over power the country and run their laws in the shameless cover of religion and use any means necessary to achieve this milestone! Period!

For once, I’m glad the United States bombs a few of them S.O.Bs to oblivion every now and then WITHOUT taking permission from our wet-pants political leaders.

Islamabad might as well holler over to Washington: “bring in more missle strikes please! We here in Pakistan are too busy burning people, protesting for a bunch of corrupt judges, getting charges against us dropped, having our court cases cleared, spreading sensational and false news, and indulging in ‘politics of revenge’! We don’t really have the intellect or the mental capacity to effectively handle the T-Boys!”

Tragedy at LUMS: Hashir Munawer

The general mood at the Lahore University of Management Sciences has been that of shock and sadness ever since the news of one of its final year student’s suicide went public. Hashir Munawer, a 4th year economics major hailing from DHA Karachi committed suicide on Tuesday (April 22) by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his hostel room.

His friends and mentors described him as average in his studies but a good volley-ball player. He had recently been put on probation by the administration owing to his low CGPA. The deceased was found by his younger brother Aqib (a student himself at LUMS) and hostel warden who entered his room with the spare keys when they found it locked and no response came from inside.

It is still being argued as to whether the cause of this tragic incident was indeed because he came under immense stress after being put on probation and was facing pressure from his parents as well. However, a friend of his by the name of Sana recently posted on the naitazi website dismissing these media rumors as mere ‘misinformation’.

One of the Lahore Metroblogs author, lah_hareem has blamed the system for Hashir’s sad demise. Stating that there have been 4 (unconfirmed though) suicide attempts at LUMS, the post quotes:

Changing policies at the drop of a hat and then implementing them on graduating classes and not the next new intake, the insensitivities of a “perfect” world. Does this not happen everywhere? Students get kicked out of schools in their final years for O and A levels only because they are not performing “up to the mark”? Who defines success? Who defines this mark? Have we lost our values and basic regard for humans around us in this vicious cycle? a fourth grader taking as many tuitions as there are subjects. Is “winning” everything and “living” does not measure up?

Whatever the reasons may be, a life has been lost. Hashir Munawaer is no longer among us and the void he has left might never be filled. May Allah forgive him for his sins and grant him peace (Amen).
