SriLanka oust India, WestIndies brush aside Ireland

Sri Lanka won against a struggling Indian team in a match that saw India getting ousted from the World Cup 2007.

Inspired by a genius who raised his game when the occasion demanded, Sri Lanka overpowered India in their final league match at Port-of-Spain and stormed into the Super Eights. India suffered one of their most disappointing days in recent memory, muffing up a run-chase on a pitch posing no worries, and were all but ousted from the World Cup, in what is likely to be their worst campaign since 1979.

Sri Lanka 254 for 6 beat India 185 by 69 runs

West Indies marched passed Ireland with ease at Kingston, thanks to a slick bowling display and a fine hundred from Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Though both sides were already into the Super Eight stage of the World Cup, West Indies take through a useful two points – not to mention an equally valuable confidence boost.

West Indies 190 for 2 beat Ireland 183 for 8

Todays Matches:

Australia v South Africa (Group A) at Warner Park, St Kitts

England v Kenya (Group C) at Beausejour Stadium, St Lucia

UNDERSTAND THIS!

DEMOCRACY DON'T RULE THE WORLD, YOU'D BETTER GET THAT IN YOUR HEAD; THIS WORLD IS RULED BY VIOLENCE, BUT I GUESS THAT'S BETTER LEFT UNSAID - Bob Dylan: American folksinger.
