Inzi calls it quits

“I had a very strong attachment with the coach and I myself felt very bad. But I had already decided to retire anyways.” – Inzamam-ul-Haq

Pakistan cricketer and captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has stood down as Test captain and retired from one-day cricket after his team’s humiliating exit from the World Cup and the death of coach Bob Woolmer.

Inzamam says he intends playing test cricket but not as skipper.

He made 36 and one respectively in Pakistan’s 54-run defeat against the West Indies and the three-wicket upset loss against Ireland in the World Cup. He has played 377 one day matches and 129 tests fo Pakistan and was part of the Pakistan team which won the World cup in New Zealand in 1992.

They should start cutting ranks right from the top with the current chairman down to the players who played such sloppy cricket. It was a shame to watch such a pathetic performance by a team we had so many hopes for.
