A nursing school under the management of Pakistan Institute of Management Sciences was shut down recently along with the suspension of its Christian principal and four Christian students. This has happened as a result of the protest by certain Muslim pupils at the nursing school against the alleged desecration of Quranic verses on a water cooler.

Some people just can not seem to make up their mind. Such is the case with those involved in finding out as to what was the cause of death of former Pakistan Cricket coach, Bob Woolmer, during the World Cup earlier this year.
A British newspaper, Daily Mail, is now claiming tha the Jamaican police are set to announce Bob Woolmer’s death as nothing more than one that happened of a natural cause.
This really does not come as a surprise considering they took their sweet time investigating while the body was finally cremated on May 4 by Bob’s family. Incidently, this has put the Jamaican authorities under immense pressure now since they were too hasty to declare the death as murder instead of suspicion.

In yet another strong display of opposition, thousands who supported the ousted Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry came out on the streets in Haripur where the CJP was today.
Musharraf suspended Chaudhry nearly three months ago, triggering a movement that began with a call for greater independence of the judiciary but has morphed into a full-fledged campaign for an end to military rule and the restoration of democracy.
Information Minister Mohammed Ali Durrani denied that the government was interfering with Aaj’s broadcast and blamed any transmission problems on cable companies. Hussain said the government is pressuring the companies to block stations that report critically.
